The Jewel of the Caribbean

Jagged volcanic spires stluciarising from the Caribbean Sea, the world’s only “drive in volcano”, and one of the world’s number one honeymoon spots….ahhh St Lucia.  Often St Lucia is just another stop on a Caribbean cruise, but I believe it has enough to offer to be a multi-day vacation destination.  First off, it has some of the world’s most beautiful resorts I have ever personally experienced including Ladera Resort, Jade Mountain, and Capella Marigot Bay among others.  Imagine waking up to the sunrise in your open-sided suite overlooking the ocean and the iconic Pitons and then watching the sunset from your private plunge pool.  It really is about as idyllic as you can imagine.

Marigot Bay has some of the best restaurants in the country and a world-class marina for those traveling to St Lucia via private yacht or sailboat.  During my recent stay, I experienced probably the best customer service ever from a hotel at Capella Marigot Bay.  From tracking down lost bags, to daily amenities delivered to our room, a complimentary cake and bottle of champagne to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and specialty room service meals not even on their menu.  The sunset cruise around the bay and to a nearby fishing village was magical and a great way to see the island from the water. The Capella’s Auriga Spa offers indigenous treatments such as volcanic stone massages and body treatments made from herbs grown on-property, thermal mud or native chocolate.

From honeymooners wanting nothing more than to lounge on a beach; to an active couple wanting to zipline, hike, scuba dive, and explore; to families wanting an exceptional experience at a world class resort…St Lucia has something for everyone.
